6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET | REGISTER

Guidebook author Cameron Hewitt, just home from Europe, takes us to the three great Germanic cities — Berlin, Munich, and Vienna — for a thoughtful look at how Third Reich sites carry a new relevance today. Then it's a road trip through the German, Austrian, Italian, and Slovenian Alps, from Hitler's Eagle's Nest to Innsbruck's Golden Roof to Italy's Dolomites to Cameron's favorite city, Ljubljana. In this land of contrasts, we'll combine "travel as a political act" insights and alpine eye candy — plus fresh-from-the-rucksack insights on new red tape, record heat waves, and more.

With fairy-tale architecture, dynamic history, and enticing food and design culture, Kraków, Warsaw, and Gdańsk are (rightfully) basking in the travel spotlight. But there's more to Poland than these leading cities, and tour guide Tomasz Klimek and MNT host Ben Green team up for a whirlwind tour of undiscovered Polish delights. In the university town of Wrocław, we linger on the higgeldy-piggeldy Market Square before making for Łódź, a revitalized industrial city with a burgeoning arts scene. For our finale, alpine hiking and thermal bath soaking in the mountain resort of Zakopane. Dzięki!

Venice & the Veneto: Ben Green’s Trip Report

This event was recorded on August 10, 2026.

Just back from two weeks of guidebook research in Venice and the Veneto, Ben Green shares his fresh-out-of-the-rucksack report on this dreamy island city and nearby highlights. Starting in Venice, we beat the crowds to marquee sights, go local in off-the-beaten-path neighborhoods, and meet artisan glassblowers and oarlock carvers in studio. After a cicchetti crawl, we catch a train to the mainland and discover impressive Roman ruins in Verona, brilliant Byzantine mosaics in Ravenna, and student traditions in the university city of Padua. So, grab a pen and paper for the latest updates from the Veneto!
