June 15: Beyond the Best of France with Lisa Friend and Gabe Gunnink

6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET | REGISTER

World class cities, honey-colored hill towns, oceans of vineyards, and l'art de vivre tempt travelers to France again and again. But once you've met the Mona Lisa, ogled Loire Valley chateaux, and strutted Nice promenades, where do you adventure in France? MNT hosts Lisa and Gabe team up to provide itinerary inspiration to satisfy France's back door travelers. We enjoy half-timbered quaintness in Dinan, Brittany's best medieval town, and unwind at Saint-Malo, a true Breton beach resort. Then we head south to Languedoc-Roussillon (think Provence without the crowds) to explore the riverside city of Albi, and end our journey frolicking in calanques along the shores of charming Cassis.

6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET | REGISTER

Sightseeing with your tastebuds is one of the great thrills of European travel, but it need not come with a high ticket price. Rick Steves’ Europe staffer Stauss teaches us how to eat well on even a lean budget and spot quality like a local, using cultural clues to uncover unforgettable meals. Together, we indulge in neighborhood markets, family-run pub grub, regional specialties, and street food gems — from pintxos in Spain to börek in Turkey to stroopwafels in the Netherlands. Plus, Stauss leads a guided cheese tasting featuring a festival of European flavors. To join the guided cheese tasting, pick up the following cheeses: Brie, Gruyère, Manchego, and Stilton.

July 13: Barcelona & Madrid with Robyn Stencil

6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET | REGISTER

Regal Madrid and fiercely independent Barcelona are locked in a (mostly friendly) rivalry that spills beyond the football pitch. While both serve up world-class art, tasty tapas, and elegant boulevards fit for a paseo, guidebook researcher Robyn Stencil shows us the unique personalities of Spain’s top cities. In whimsical Barcelona, we discover Catalan spirit, admire Gaudí masterpieces, and kick back at the beach. And in majestic Madrid, we ponder perplexing art at the Prado before retreating to Retiro Park for a siesta. Plus, to celebrate the 2026 World Cup, we examine El Clásico rivalry and pick up tips for enjoying football in Europe.

Copenhagen, Stockholm & Oslo with Dave Hoerlein

This event was recorded on June 8, 2026.

People-friendly urban spaces, cozy traditions, and seafaring legends are synonymous with Scandinavia — and in this session, Rick Steves' Europe mapmaker Dave Hoerlein joins us to celebrate our brand-new tour of Scandinavia's three great capitals. Starting in Copenhagen, we bask in smart city planning, from strolling the Strøget (Europe's first major pedestrian boulevard) to swimming in free harbor baths. We savor a fika (Swedish coffee break) and sail the scenic archipelago outside Stockholm. And in Oslo, we marvel at eclectic sculptures and sweeping fjord views. Along the way, our Scandinavian guides offer us tours of local life in their easy-to-love hometowns.
